Slingshot Sports is a leading Kiteboarding and Wakeboarding manufacturer located in Hood River, Oregon. Their commitment to quality, innovative design, testing and riding has been a driving force in the industry for over a decade.

Goals and Objectives

Despite their strong brand recognition and industry reputation, Slingshot required a stronger online presence to assist in capturing new business. Specifically, Slingshot wanted to drive more organic traffic and sales to their newly redesigned website (slingshotsports.com). SwellPath needed to provide a solution that integrated, not disrupted the new site redesign; to have a heavily branded site that also incorporated strong SEO elements.

Measurement

Results were measured on the following key performance indicators:

  • Increase in organic traffic
  • Increase in sales via organic traffic

Strategy & Execution

SwellPath began by understanding the current redesign of slingshotsports.com, what technologies were being utilized and what resources were available to execute SEO recommendations.

SwellPath then launched a comprehensive keyword research project, identifying key search queries. After conducting a comprehensive SEO audit of slingshotsports.com, SwellPath provided recommendations for improvement, addressed site SEO issues and consulted on the implementation of the recommendations.

Results

The following results were achieved 4 months after the initial engagement.

  • 136% increase in sales via organic traffic (March ’09 v. July ’09)
  • Average 25% increase in sales via organic traffic (month to month)
  • 73% increase in organic traffic (March ’09 v. July ’09)
  • Average 11% increase in organic traffic (month to month)
  • Double the amount of top 10 search engine rankings
